Nine Lives for Linux
A native Linux companion for people whose Audiobookshelf server holds the library, but whose next chapter still needs to work when the network does not.
Nine Lives for Linux is a native Linux player being built for Audiobookshelf libraries, with authenticated streaming, downloads, and offline playback once a book is saved. It is still in development with no public release or repository, so the Android version is the Nine Lives you can actually use today.

This page describes the development build as it exists now. It is not a public release yet, and the source repository is not currently public.
The active path starts with an Audiobookshelf connection, an authenticated library, and playback that can resume across multi-track books while progress reports back to the server.
Full-book downloads feed a cold offline shelf. Completed books play from private app data when the server is unavailable, with offline chapters and an app-local five-band equalizer.
Full MPRIS controls remain open. Flatpak through Flathub is the intended first distribution route, but there is no public release to install yet.
Local folder scanning and arbitrary local-file playback remain dormant post-v1 work. They are in the repository, but they are not part of the active acceptance path and are not being marketed as current behavior.
Before you wait on a release

There is no release date. The source repository is not public yet, desktop integration like full MPRIS controls is still open work, and this page will not invent a launch date it cannot back up.

The Linux build stays on the bench until its release path is ready. Android is the furthest along of the family, but it is in testing rather than open on the store, so Windows is the working option in the meantime.
